Electric cars are not unusual to us. Tesla has been making popular electric cars for a brief time. But today, Faraday Future, an American Startup Technology Company has announced their first SUV grade electric car prototype in a press conference at Las Vegas ahead of CES.
Named FF91, this car is heavily boasted for its built-in features. It has a 130Kwh battery energy that can power up the car upto 378 miles (608 Km) on a single charge. This car is capable of reaching 0-60mph in just 2.39 seconds, faster than the Tesla Model S P100D which does it in 2.40 seconds. This car is powered by Open Charging System, which allows one to charge their cars by any charging means.
This car is stuffed with a number of sensors and camera around it. A total of 30 sensors which includes 10 front and rear facing cameras, 13 long and short radars, 12 ultrasonic sensor and a High definition 3D capable LIDAR sensor. This means the car is capable of operating autonomously and includes self-driving and parking capabilities.
It also allows the person to enter the car via Bluetooth enabled phone or Facial recognition (Iris detection). FF91 is also capable of learning personal preferences through cameras placed inside camera, so that it can provide a seamless comfortable experience. Also there are no door handles and the doors are controlled by IR sensors to detect the person. The alerts and important data are projected over the Windshield of the car.
Our #FF91 maximizes electric performance with its 0-60 time of 2.39s. That’s averaging over 1.1g. Or faster than gravity. #FirstOfTheSpecies
The company said the production of its FF91 starts on 2018. The price of the car is not known. Howerer, interested persons can register on their website by paying a refundable $5000.
An important point to note that this company is backed up by the Chinese company LeEco, which has recently announced the company's loss in mobile industry.
